2021 AEMA-ARRA-ISSA annual meeting to go virtual
GLEN ELLYN, IL — In these unprecedented times, we have seen our businesses, communities, country, and world adapt to our current circumstances. The Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association (AEMA), Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association (ARRA), and International Slurry Surfacing Association (ISSA), known together as the Pavement Preservation & Recycling Alliance (PPRA), are no different.
The PPRA Annual Meeting Program Chairs, PPRA Executive Committee, and the AEMA, ARRA, and ISSA Boards of Directors have reviewed and considered a number of options for the 2021 AEMA-ARRA-ISSA Annual Meeting, scheduled from February 15-19, 2021. Factors considered have included: participant health and safety, travel restrictions, speaker commitment, and educational and social programming.
After reviewing all factors considered, the leadership of AEMA, ARRA, and ISSA have collectively agreed to host the 2021 AEMA-ARRA-ISSA Annual Meeting virtually, February 15-18.
“The decision to hold the annual meeting virtually was an especially difficult one. We could not, in good conscience, be reckless and run the risk of possibly contributing to the spread of the virus at our annual meeting even if we were to take all the precautions that are recommended,” says AEMA Annual Program Chair, Bob Huitt.
The PPRA Annual Program Chairs are working to create a virtual meeting that will provide exceptional content. ISSA Annual Meeting Program Chair Dave Welborn, states “As we close a year filled with challenges and uncertainty, now, more than ever, we need to connect with our association friends and colleagues to recharge and prepare for the days ahead. With the user-friendly format and schedule, every presentation and event from each association will be at attendees’ disposal, and the content will be fresh and relevant.”
ARRA’s Program Chair, Jonathan Pease, adds, “We understand we are flooded with virtual events and we are preparing a program that will deliver industry specific learning and insights from top industry professionals.”
More information on the schedule, sponsorship and networking opportunities, and reduced registration rates will be available in the upcoming weeks.
During this difficult time, AEMA, ARRA, and ISSA greatly appreciate your support. We look forward to better days ahead for all of us and to when we can meet again in person for the AEMA-ARRA-ISSA Annual Meeting. If you have any questions, please contact us at alim@cmservices.com.
